Get an early taste of the book based on the Manic Street Preacher's career
NME has an exclusive extract from a new novel based on the life of Manic Street Preachers‘ Richey Edwards.
You can read an extract from the book on NME.COM now – head to the NME office blog now for a section of the book retelling the moment Edwards cut the words ‘4 Real’ into his arm in front of a journalist.
Meanwhile, the band’s Nicky Wire has revealed to NME this week that he is not a fan of the book, which is out on October 1.
“I’ve skimmed through it,” he admitted. “I found it too upsetting to read the whole thing. The notion that somebody thinks they knew who he was… I mean, I thought I knew Richey, but maybe I didn’t.”
For Wire‘s full verdict, plus his manifesto for saving rock’n’roll, get this week’s issue of NME on UK newsstands now, or available digitally worldwide right now.
