Manic Street Preacher announces solo show

PJ Harvey will also be playing

Manic Street PreachersNicky Wire is to play a solo acoustic set at the Guardian Hay Festival next month.

The bassist has been added to the line-up for the event, which takes place in Hay-On-Wye between May 26 and June 4.

Wire will perform in the festival cinema on the final day.

PJ Harvey will also be playing a set on the opening night. Other acts include Katherine Jenkins and comedians Jimmy Carr and Gina Yashere.

As previously reported, Manic Street Preachers singer James Dean Bradfield is set to release his debut solo album ‘The Great Western’ on July 24.

It will be proceeded by a single, ‘That’s No Way To Tell A Lie’, on July 10.

“I just realised…I actually really enjoyed it a lot. Seeing ‘Words and Music by James Dean Bradfield‘ written down actually made me feel happy. For once I’ve lost a bit of my insecurity,” the singer said.
