The jaunt, due to start in Helsinki next month, will now not take place. But the reason why is shrouded in mystery...
The MANIC STREET PREACHERS have cancelled their entire European tour, NME.COM can exclusively confirm.
A spokesperson for the band confirmed the news this morning (September 21), but had no further information to hand as to the reasons behind the cancellation. The band’s official website, www. manicstreetpreachers.com, carries no mention of the news at all.
Fan site www.foreverdelayed.com says one reason might be that band have already started work on their Greatest Hits package.
It is also known that bassist Nicky Wire has fear of flying and may have balked at air travel in the light of recent terror strikes in the US.
The band were due to open the tour at the Icehall in Helsinki on October 1.
