James Dean Bradfield belts out the hits for just 250 fans...

Manic Street Preachers frontman JAMES DEAN BRADFIELD played a free low-key gig for 250 fans in GLASGOW last night (Wednesday).

The secret gig took place at Renfrew Ferry, a converted boat floating on the River Clyde.

The frontman performed eight songs unaccompanied and halfway through the set answered questions from fans, who had won tickets to the show through local radio stations around Scotland.

As preparations get underway for the Manic Street Preachers’ ‘Greatest Hits’ tour and forthcoming best-of album, ‘Forever Delayed’, Bradfield was in good voice.

The set list ran:

‘You Stole The Sun From My Heart’

‘Roses In The Hospital’

‘Suicide Is Painless’

‘Motorcycle Emptiness’

‘Little Baby Nothing’

‘If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next’

‘A Design For Life’

Nine fans – who had been chosen to put their questions to Bradfield personally from the front row – quizzed him on subjects ranging from the bands’ dress sense and fashion disasters to the tracklisting for ‘Forever Delayed’, which is released on October 28.
