The hour-long documentary is to be aired on Channel 4 later this month...

MANIC STREET PREACHERS’ recent visit to CUBA is the subject of a forthcoming Channel 4 documentary.

‘Our Manics In Havana’ is an hour-long film shot while the band visited Havana to launch their forthcoming album, ‘Know Your Enemy’.

The film will be broadcast at 11.30pm on March 24, and promises behind-the-scenes footage from before the gig, as well as songs from the show itself.

The band famously met the Cuban leader Fidel Castro at the show, and speaking recently to NME.COM bassist Nicky Wire described the leader as “like the greatest popstar I’ve ever met”.

He continued: “There’s only two people I’ve ever come across who really have that special aura. One was Muhammad Ali and the other was Fidel Castro.”

The band, who returned to the UK stage with a hometown show at the Cardiff Coal Exchange last Thursday (March 8), will play larger, sold-out UK shows later in the month at:

Manchester Apollo (27-28)

London Brixton Academy (30-31)

Glasgow Barrowlands (April 2-3)

‘Know Your Enemy’ is released on March 19. The next single from the record is likely to be ‘Let Robeson Sing’, although that has not yet been confirmed.
