Neale Howells, the artist responsible for the cover of 'Know Your Enemy', is creating a huge painiting in the city's Bute Square...

NEALE HOWELLS, the artist behind the artwork to the forthcoming MANIC STREET PREACHERS album ‘KNOW YOUR ENEMY’, is to create a huge MANICS-themed piece of art in CARDIFF.

Howells designed the sleeve to the ‘Know Your Enemy’ album, as well as the band’s two current singles, ‘So Why So Sad’ and ‘Found That Soul’.

From Monday (March 5), Howells plans to spend the two weeks leading up to the release of the band’s new album creating a huge painting in Bute Square in Cardiff. It is claimed it will follow the same theme as the record artwork.

Following the release of ‘Know Your Enemy’ on March 19, the painting will remain on display until the end of the month.

Manics bassist Nicky Wire is said to be a fan of the provocative artwork of Howells, who is also from Wales.

The Manic Street Preachers return to Cardiff next week, for a low-key show at the Cardiff Coal Exchange (March 8).

Following the show, the band will tour the UK, calling at: Manchester Apollo (March 27-28)

London Brixton Academy (March 30-31)

Glasgow Barrowlands (April 2-3)
