'Glitter' is put on hold following the star's "complete physical and emotional breakdown"...
The release of MARIAH CAREY‘s film ‘GLITTER’ has been put back by almost a month following the hospitalisation of the star.
The film, originally due for release in the US on August 31, has now moved to September 21. The picture is not due for release in the UK until November.
‘Glitter’, set in early-80s New York, stars Carey as Billie Frank, a singer who finds stardom after a troubled childhood. An album of the same name will still be released on August 20 in the UK and a day later in the US. A UK spokesperson for Carey had no comment to make on whether or not she would be released from hospital and able to carry out promotional duties around the release.
Carey was hospitalised on July 25 following a complete “emotional and physical breakdown”. The star’s spokespeople have consistently denied she made a suicide attempt.
