Marianne Faithfull is making a full recovery from breast cancer.
The singer, who was diagnosed with the disease in its early stages nearly two months ago, has been given the go-ahead to continue with her world tour next year following surgery.
According to her spokesperson, Faithfull is making a “rapid return to full health”.
In a statement the singer added: “It has been an extraordinary experience and, in many ways, extremely positive.
“I didn’t realise how many true friends I had. I feel so lucky and loved and thank everybody for all their good thoughts.”
The 59-year-old will kick off her world tour in Budapest in March 2007, reports BBC News.
The one-time girlfriend of Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger became a big star in her own right in the 1960s.
In the past she has battled a heroin addiction which caused her to have a nervous breakdown.
