The Goth rocker is "deep" into the writing for the follow-up to 'Holy Wood'...

MARILYN MANSON has ten new songs “in the works” for the follow-up to last year’s ‘HOLY WOOD (IN THE SHADOW IN THE VALLEY OF DEATH)’ album.

Manson has been working on new material in LA since completing the touring commitments for his last album late last summer.

Speaking in the current issue of Kerrang! magazine, the Goth rocker said that he is “deep” into the writing for the new record.

He said: “I am very deep into the writing process right now. I have recorded quite a few tracks – they’re not complete, but I would say that there’s about ten tracks in the works that are more than just ideas.”

Manson said he has also committed to another film score, working on the soundtrack to the forthcoming ‘Resident Evil’ movie – music that he describes as more “electronic” than his usual rock.

He concluded: “It’s definitely interesting to do other things like scoring films. I think very visually when I come up with sounds anyway. I do have a lot of movie related projects I want to do in the future. I think I’m gonna take it one step at a time and see how inspired I am and see how much longer I want to keep making rock music.”
