Band joined singer on stage during Pennsylvania show
Marilyn Manson performed his song ‘The Beautiful People’ with teenage metal band Unlocking The Truth during a show in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania last weekend (January 31).
The Brooklyn band, who have opened several of Manson’s recent gigs, joined the singer onstage for a performance of the hit song, which was released in 1996 – before any of them were born.
Band members Malcolm Brickhouse, Alec Atkins and Jarad Dawkins assisted Manson on vocal, and Brickhouse ended the group’s performance by stage-diving into the crowd. You can watch a fan-recorded video of the performance below.
Unlocking The Truth signed a five-album, $1.8 million record deal with Sony last year. The group rose to prominence after a series of their videos – including one of them playing their track ‘Monsters’ on a street corner in Times Square – went viral.
Manson is currently touring the US in support of his latest album ‘The Pale Emperor’, the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Born Villain’. The singer recently spoke to NME about being blamed for incidents of murder and suicide among his fans, saying, “If I was literally responsible for something I would take credit or accept the responsibility and the punishment, but I’m not going to accept any blame for things that I make, because people should be responsible for their own actions.”
