Mark Ronson teams up with Miles Kane for ‘Mortdecai’ soundtrack

Album to accompany new Johnny Depp film will be released on same day as Ronson's 'Uptown Special'

Mark Ronson is to release the official soundtrack to new Johnny Depp film Mortdecai and has worked with Miles Kane on the record.

Ronson and composer Geoff Zanelli have put the album together with Kane’s vocals appearing on the opening track, ‘Johanna’. Rose Ellinor Dougall is the only other singer credited on the album. She previously worked with Ronson on his 2010 album ‘Record Collection.’

Mortdecai sees Depp play the role of Charlie Mortdecai, a debonair art dealer and part time rogue who must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold. The film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn, Jeff Goldblum and Paul Bettany and is released in cinemas January 30.
