“Mark speaking…” – Arctic Monkeys unveil video for ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’

Buckle up for some more brilliantly bizarre imagery...

Arctic Monkeys have unveiled the video for the title track to ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’. Check it out below.

Alex Turner and co. released their divisive sixth album, ‘Tranquility Base…‘, in May. While there was no official lead single as such, a surreal, Stanley Kubrick-inspired clip was released for album highlight ‘Four Out Of Five’.

The latest clip continues with the same Kubrick-esque sci-fi aesthetic and style, showing Turner in the fictitious hotel, complete with sauna and ranch.

The song includes the lines: “Good afternoon / Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino / Mark speaking / Please tell me how may I direct your call?

Now the song has a fitting video of Turner answering the phone as Mark.

Earlier this month, the band performed a career-spanning set at Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival. Reviewing the show, NME said: “The Monkeys’ set seemed calibrated to prove that despite the polarised critical reaction to most recent album, their new songs can easily match up to the greatest hits of their back catalogue.”

During a recent show in Lyon, Arctic Monkeys covered Elvis Costello’s ‘Lipstick Vogue‘, after it was revealed that the musician has undergone cancer surgery.
