Slash reveals collaboration with Mary J Blige

Former Guns N' Roses axeman tweets that he has been in the studio with the soul diva

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has confirmed that he has recorded a new track with Mary J. Blige.

The guitarist has been in the studio working on material for his second solo album and confirmed on his feed Twitter.com/Slash that he had just finished a track with the singer. Slash wrote: “Just finished a session with Mike Clink engineering on a track with Mary J. Blige. Sounds killer!”

The collaboration would be Slash‘s third high profile outing with a female pop star in recent years.

He contributed guitar to Rihanna‘s ‘Rockstar 101’ on her 2009 ‘Rated R’ album and most recently recorded a collaboration with Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie titled ‘Beautiful Dangerous’ on his 2010 solo album.

Slash is currently recording after an extensive world tour, which saw him play a series of UK gigs and festivals. He recently confirmed he would be recording another solo album rather than regrouping with Velvet Revolver.
