TWIN ATTACK!

They're like buses, Massive Attack albums...

Massive Attack are back in the studio working on a new album – only weeks after finishing the last one.

Robert ‘3-D’ Del Naja finished work on the long awaited follow-up to ‘Mezzanine’ in late September, four years after the release of their last album. They intend to release two albums within 12 months, the second being “less precious” than the first.

Now, true to his word, Del Naja is working on new songs. In his spare time, he is working on a variety of different band related projects.

“Started recording new material,” he wrote on the band’s official website. “Not going to hang around. Started commissioning films for a DVD. Gonna attempt to direct a couple myself. Artwork looks so cool – gonna make it into a book. Going to do some painting (and) start rehearsing.”

Massive Attack‘s fourth album is due for release on January 27. It has now been given a title, but 3-D cryptically claims he “can’t say it out loud”.

Massive Attack will spend much of 2003 touring.
