Singer also lines up album launch gig in his hometown
Maximo Park‘s Paul Smith has announced plans to release a book of photography, ‘Thinking In Pictures’, to coincide with the release of his forthcoming debut ‘Margins’.
The singer has compiled 74 hand-picked images, chosen from thousands of Polaroids while on tour with his band, a limited number of copies of which will have his new record slotted in the back.
“I’ve always been interested in documenting what surrounds me and as a touring musician I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world,” Smith said. “It would be easy to allow the days to blur into a whole, but one way to combat this is to create your own map of a day using pictures.”
The book, which will be released with the album on October 11, will be available through Amazon.co.uk only and the first 1000 copies will come with a signed bookmark.
The singer has also announced an intimate album launch gig at Uncle Albert’s in Middlesbrough on the same day.
His debut single ‘Our Lady Of Lourdes’ will follow on November 1 on seven-inch vinyl and download with B-side ‘Loop For Becca’.
