Meat Loaf collapses on stage mid-song during Edmonton gig

Singer was reportedly rushed to hospital after incident

Meat Loaf collapsed on stage during a gig in Canada on Thursday night (June 16).

The US singer – real name Marvin Lee Aday – was playing a concert in Edmonton, Alberta when the incident occurred. He had previously cancelled shows in Moose Jaw and Calgary earlier in the week due to illness.

Video footage sees the star fall to the floor during a performance of ‘I Would Do Anything For Love’. See below.

Ambulances and fire trucks soon attended the scene at about 9.37pm local time, according to reports. According to Fox News, the singer was taken to hospital at around 10 pm.

Meat Loaf’s current condition is not known and no official statement has been released.

Concertgoer Lindsay Sundmark told the Edmonton Journal: “We weren’t sure at first whether it was part of the act or it was something for real”.

Another fan wrote on Twitter: “Meat Loaf did not look good 2nite. Was worried he wouldn’t last. Left moments b4 he went down. Had a bad feeling”.

Meat Loaf previously collapsed on stage at a gig in London in 2003 and at a show in Pittsburgh during 2011.
