Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine claims he healed a fan suffering from cancer

Guitarist grabbed fan by the throat and started praying for him

Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine has hinted that he prolonged the life of a cancer-stricken fan by touching him and praying.

The guitarist told Spin that one of his most treasured possessions was a certificate given to him by the fan, that had been signed by the governor of Kentucky.

Mustaine, who formed a new band called Red Lamb with ex-Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz earlier this year, said:

I met a fan in Kentucky who had throat cancer. He was only supposed to live a few weeks. For some reason, I reached out, grabbed his throat, and started praying for the dude. He lives long enough to give me [the certificate] on our next tour.

Mustaine went on to vouch for the legitimacy of the certificate, adding: “It’s signed by the governor and says I’m an honorary Kentucky Colonel. As far as I know, it’s the real deal.”

The former Metallica man is renowned for his spiritual views and has been famed in the past for his refusal to share festival bills with Satanic bands in the past. In 2007, he told “I’ve never believed in singing about Satan and thinking he’s cool, because he’s not.”

Earlier this year, the frontman hit out at bands who give away their music for free on the internet, labelling them as “careless” and “stupid”.

On October 31, meanwhile, Megadeth released their 13th studio album, ‘Th1rt3en’, which is the follow-up to their 2009 effort ‘Endgame’.
