MENSWEAR TRY IT ON AGAIN

Menswear return to the live stage for the first time in nearly two years next month...

Menswear make their first public appearance onstage in nearly two years at London Kings College on April 30.

The band will be playing old songs as well as new material written since they last appeared in public. The last gig the band played was at the V96 festival.

In the intervening period, the band have recorded a new album, the follow-up to their 1995 debut ‘Nuisance’. They recently parted company with London Records following the demise of their label, the London offshoot Laurel. The new album features contributions from The High Llamas’ Sean O’Hagan and Marcus Holdaway and Pee Wee Ellis from soul legends the JB Allstars.

A spokeswoman for Menswear told NME the band were in discussions with various records companies for a new deal and that once one was secured, the forthcoming – as yet untitled – album would be released.
