Metallica, Biffy Clyro, You Me At Six to play Download Festival today (June 9)

Tenacious D, Black Veil Brides and Steel Panther are also on the bill for the metal bash today

Metallica, Biffy Clyro and You Me At Six are all set to play Download Festival today (June 9).

The metal titans, who are currently touring across mainland Europe, will headline the event’s Jim Marshall Stage tonight and will play a set that includes the entirety of their classic 1991 self titled album (commonly known as ‘The Black Album’).

Biffy Clyro, who have just completed work on their new double album ‘The Land At The End Of Our Toes’ and ‘The Sand At The Core Of Our Bones’, play under Metallica on the Main Stage, with the likes of Tenacious D, Steel Pather, Trivium and Black Veil Brides all due to appear on the stage today as well.

You Me At Six headline the event’s Zippo Encore stage tonight with Killswitch Engage, Skindred, Kids In Glass Houses, Four Year Strong and Lower Than Atlantis among the other acts also on the bill.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, Sylosis, LostAlone, My Passion and Turbowolf are also set to play the event today.
