A 24-year-old man is reported to have fallen from a balcony ledge at the band's secret LA show...

Unconfirmed reports from the US have claimed that for the second time in under a month a Metallica fan has died at one of the band’s shows.

A 24-year-old man is said to have fallen to his death from a balcony ledge following Metallica‘s ‘secret’ show at LA House Of Blues on Tuesday night (July 18).

However, at present it is unclear if the accident happened in the arena during the show or a little afterwards. No further details are currently available.

On July 4, during a Metallica show at Baltimore’s Raven Stadium, a 21-year-old fan, identified later as Martin Muschette, also fell to his death.

Following the accident, Metallica issued a statement saying they were “absolutely devastated” by what happened, adding “our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family and friends in their time of grief”.

If confirmed, this latest incident, coming in the wake of the Roskilde tragedy of June 30, is sure to add to the ongoing debate into levels of safety at rock concerts.
