The group cite a breach of copyright on their name - and we all know how they feel about that...

METALLICA are suing French perfume company GUERLAIN and two PARIS department stores for breach of copyright on their name.

Guerlain and department stores Neiman-Marcus and Bergdorf-Goodman are under fire from the rockers for launching a perfume called ‘Metallica’.

According to Rolling Stone, the band’s attorney said of the action raised on Wednesday (December 13), that they were concerned fans would assume the perfume was in some way related to or endorsed by the band.

Metallica have previously taken exception to cosmetic company Victoria’s Secret calling a lip-liner ‘Metallica’ and fashion house Pierre Cardin for taking their name in vain for a tuxedo design.
