The band will appear on the chat show every night this week as host Craig Ferguson prepares to leave the programme he has hosted since 2004. This follows a similar residency on The Tonight Show by Foo Fighters and the now postponed plans by U2 to do the same thing.
Meanwhile, a 10th anniversary special edition of the documentary Metallica: Some Kind of Monster is to be released on November 24. Also included will be the bonus feature Metallica: The Monster Lives, a 25-minute follow up film that chronicles the 10 years since the release of Some Kind of Monster.
In addition to the movie’s reissue, Metallica recently announced a box set of 27 live albums, all of which have been recorded this year. The albums will be released in batches of three every Monday until the end of the year and can be purchased through LiveMetallica.com. The collection of all 27 performances will be released in December.
