Metronomy announce Spring 2017 UK tour

The band will be taking 'Summer 08' on the road

Metronomy have announced details of their first UK tour in nearly two years. Full dates and ticket details are below.

The trio of shows will call at Glasgow, Manchester and London throughout May 2017 – with frontman Joe Mount again taking to the stage with bandmates Oscar Cash, Gbenga Adelekan, Anna Prior and Michael Lovett .

The tour is in support of Metronomy’s critically-acclaimed 2016 album ‘Summer 08’ – check out our full review of the record here.

“It started as a joke really,” Mount told NME about the concept of the album. “Back in 2008, immediately after ‘Nights Out’ had been released, I thought, “I’m gonna release this record called ‘Summer 2008’ and it’s going to be about all the things I could have done had I not been having a great time touring.”

He added: “Back then, I was mostly concerned about what the coolest bar in Dalston was or what NME thought of us compared to Klaxons…That time in my life feels like it wasn’t that long ago, although someone who’s 25 now looks very young to me. I guess the person I was then – idiotic and carefree – made some good decisions, which led me to where I am now.”
