MF DOOM has spoken out online in tribute to his son who died last week.
Taking to Instagram, the masked alt-hip-hop artist shared a photo of his son Malachi Ezekiel Dumile, stating that he passed away last Monday aged just 14.
“The greatest son one could ask for,” wrote Doom, real name Daniel Dumile. “Safe journey and may all our ancestors greet you with open arms. One of our greatest inspirations. Thank you for allowing us to be your parents. Love you, Mali.”
His cause of death has not yet been revealed, but many fans have commented on the image to pay their respects and condolences.
“We love you DOOM,” wrote on fan. “So sorry you have to go through this. Condolences to your family.”
Another added: “Hope you get through this. All love to you and your family.”
After his Adult Swim collaboration and 15-week single series ‘The Missing Notebook Rhymes’ came to a halt earlier this year, DOOM then announced the release of a limited-edition vinyl box set of his 1999 classic solo debut ‘Operation: Doomsday’. The set came with seven 7-inch coloured vinyls, new original artwork, and two 45 adapters with a 3D rendering of DOOM’s signature mask.
DOOM has not released a full solo album since 2009’s ‘Born Like This’.
