M.I.A. cancels US festival appearance

Mathangi Arulpragasam has visa problems - again

MIA has been forced to cancel an appearance at the Sasquatch music festival this weekend.

This is the second time MIA, whose real name is Mathangi Arulpragasam, has had visa problems. A year ago, she revealed in an online post that she was refused entry to the US where she was due to record material with super-producer Timbaland.

Other acts scheduled to perform at Sasquatch include Interpol, Arcade Fire, Bjork, Beastie Boys and Tokyo Police Club. The festival happens in the scenic setting of The Gorge, a natural amphitheatre near George, WA.

Meanwhile, MIA remains on the bill for the following festivals:

Chicago, IL Lollapalooza (August 3)

Baltimore, MD Virgin Festival (5)

Toronto, Ontario Virgin Festival (September 8-9)

Austin, TX Zilker Park (Austin City Limits Festival) (14-16)
