MIA promotes recycling on new track ‘Rewear It’ – preview song in H&M advert

Campaign is in collaboration with H&M and World Recycle Week

MIA has teamed up with H&M, previewing a new track ahead of World Recycle Week.

World Recycle Week takes place this year from April 18-24. Ahead of it, MIA’s new track ‘Rewear It’ has been teased in a H&M advert. The clothing chain is encouraging customers to recycle unwanted clothes at its stores.

MIA is expected to release her new album ‘Matahdatah’ shortly. It will be the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Matangi’ and her fifth LP to date. She recently unveiled two new songs, titled ‘MIA OLA’ and ‘Foreign Friend’.

MIA was recently involved in a legal dispute with French football team Paris Saint-Germain after her ‘Borders’ video saw her wearing a PSG shirt with its sponsor Fly Emirates changed to read “Fly Pirates”. The club took objection to this.

Speaking about the issue, MIA said that she didn’t expect the issue to arise because she “was thinking about the bigger picture, which is that way more people are going to die at sea if we don’t do something”.
