New song released amid ongoing dispute with former producer, Diplo
MIA has shared a demo of new song ‘Platforms’. Listen to the song below, now.
‘Platforms’ was uploaded to Soundcloud by MIA last night (May 8) but appears to have been removed. A version of the song remains on Youtube. MIA also posted a short clip of herself singing the song to Instagram which you can see below.
The song is the second new track of 2015 from MIA following the release of ‘Can See Can Do’ in March.
It also arrives amid an ongoing battle between the artist and her former producer, Diplo. The row began when MIA gave an interview to Rolling Stone to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut album ‘Arular’ and claimed that her relationship with Diplo broke down over his apparent jealousy over her success.
Diplo later responded by admitting that he was “really jealous and sad, and probably mad when she signed to a major label”, before claiming that he had seen her a day after the interview and that she had apologised. MIA subsequently denied that she had apologised to him in any way.
