Track will feature on singer's new album 'Matangi'
MIA has previewed her new single ‘Come Walk With Me’.
The singer originally debuted a teaser video for the song back in April 2012 but, as Pitchfork reports, the track has been altered since then and boasts a slower, slicker and brighter sound than the demo recording. You can hear a 90-second snippet of the song at SoundCloud.
‘Come Walk With Me’ is the second track from MIA’s forthcoming new album ‘Matangio’ that the singer has previewed this month. Last week (August 21), she posted the track ‘Unbreak My Mixtape’ online, a song which samples the acoustic guitar and vocal from Blur’s ‘Tender’, alongside samples including Carly Simon’s ‘Why’. MIA’s new album, ‘Matangi’, is due to be released on November 4. The release date was fixed after the singer took to Twitter to complain about her label, Interscope, holding things up. “If Interscope takes longer I can always leak this next week and make a new one by the time they are ready,” she wrote on August 8.
Meanwhile, a recent tweet sent by the singer seems to suggest that the documentary film about her is back on, following director Steve Loveridge quitting the project saying he “Would rather die than work on this.” MIA’s tweet, posted earlier this month (August 21), said: “doc started back up today”. The film is set to feature appearances from Kayne West, Spike Jonze, XL’s Richard Russell, Switch and Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine.
