Blur, Calvin Harris, Demi Moore, We Are Scientists join tributes to Michael Jackson

Musicians and famous fans pay their respects to late singer

Musicians and famous fans including Blur‘s Graham Coxon, Calvin Harris, We Are Scientists, Kid Harpoon and Demi Moore have paid tribute to Michael Jackson, who died of a heart attack yesterday (June 25).

Coxon, who is due to headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury with Blur this Sunday (June 28), said simply “It’s… sad”.

Calvin Harris, who had previously expressed a desire to support the king of pop at his London O2 Arena residency, took to his Twitter page to express his appreciation for the star.

Harris wrote: “I can’t believe it, Michael Jackson rest in peace.” He later Tweeted: “Prince and Michael where I come from was our Elvis and Beatles..show sum Respect!!!”

Meanwhile, film star Demi Moore also paid tribute to Michael Jackson – as well as actress Farrah Fawcett, who also died today – on her Twitter page, saying: “I am greatly saddened for the loss of both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. Especially for their children!”

Chris Cain from We Are Scientists also paid tribute to Jackson, saying: “R.I.P., Michael Jackson – fuckin’ Death just wouldn’t beat it.”

Meanwhile British singer Kid Harpoon Tweeted “First album I ever owned was ‘Bad’. I love you MJ. R.I.P. X”.
