Britney Spears has joined musicians paying tribute to Michael Jackson, who died of a heart attack in Los Angeles today (June 25).
The pop star, who just finished the UK leg of her ‘Circus’ world tour, said, “He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed,” in a posting on her Twitter page.
Meanwhile, rapper Ludacris wrote, “If it were not for Michael Jackson I would not be where or who I am today. His music and legacy will live on forever. Prayers to the family.”
Katy Perry simply wrote, “Oh my God,” while John Mayer said, “I hope he is memoralised as the ’83 moonwalking, MTV-owning, mesmerizing, unstoppable, invincible Michael Jackson.”
Meanwhile, Boom Bip (aka Bryan Hollon) told NME.COM: “He went through a brilliant song writing phase in the ’80s which was very inspiring to me as a child. ‘Human Nature’ is still one of my all-time favourite songs.”
In a statement to NME.COM, Scott Kirkland of The Crystal Method said, “The controversy that has surrounded him the last 20 years is only eclipsed by the genius of ‘Off The Wall’ and ‘Thriller’.”
