Michael Jackson’s estate suing charity

Allegation that organisation falsely claimed Jackson endorsed it

Michael Jackson‘s estate is suing the Heal The World Foundation charity for unfair competition, trademark infringements and other offences, claiming the organisation wrongly implied that the late singer had endorsed it.

In the lawsuit, filed in the Federal Court, the estate claims that the charity suggested that Jackson was a supporter, pointing out that his own charity, Heal The World, is not active, reports BBC News.

Furthermore, the estate are seeking to ban the unauthorised use of phrases such as ‘King Of Pop’ and ‘Thriller’ that were associated with Jackson.

The Heal The World Foundation is yet to comment.
