'Slave To The Rhythm' is produced by Timbaland
The first fruits of a posthumous Michael Jackson album being produced by Timbaland have emerged online.
A 67-second section of the song ‘Slave To The Rhythm’ appeared on Soundcloud on Friday (March 7), but was withdrawn from the service by March 9.
The snippet is dominated by an 808 synth hook and Jackson singing “Because she’s a slave to the rhythm”. It is unrelated to Grace Jones’ 1985 single of the same name, which reached No 12 in the UK.
Timbaland confirmed last September that he is producing an album based on unreleased Jackson songs which the singer recorded before his death in 2009. “I have a lot of unreleased Jackson songs,” Timbaland told Revolt TV. “Producing an album of his would complete my legacy.”
Since Jackson’s death, the only officially-released posthumous album of unreleased recordings was ‘Michael’ in 2010. This featured guest appearances by Akon, 50 Cent and Lenny Kravitz, with a variety of producers including Teddy Riley and Tricky Stewart.
