Michael Jackson charity single almost finished

Hurricane Katrina single due out this month

Michael Jackson has almost finished his Hurricane Katrina charity single, according to his spokesperson.

The star is recording the track in the Middle East, but is using phone and satellite and phone connections to work with the artists involved.

“All that remains is for two or three artists to do their tracks,” Jackson’s spokesperson Raymone Bain told BBC News. “Michael will then add his vocals. He is now on the fast track and we’re happy with the progress.”

As previously reported the record is expected to feature the likes of Mariah Carey , R Kelly , James Brown , Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z.

Lenny Kravitz , Wyclef Jean and Missy Elliott are now also involved in the project, though due to rewrites the song is no longer called ‘From The Bottom of My Heart’ .

Proceeds from the single, due for release this month, will be go to the Bill Clinton-George Bush Katrina Fund , the Push-Excel Hurricane Katrina College Relief Fund and a disaster fund set up by the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences .
