Reports state that a warrant has been issued

A warrant has been issued for Michael Jackson’s arrest in relation to fresh child sex allegations.

Police in Las Vegas claim that a warrant has been issued for the star’s arrest, following a search of his Neverland ranch in California, according to the BBC. Michael Jackson is believed to be in Las Vegas filming a video.

While Calfornia police have denied that they have confirmed the issue of a warrant, Las Vegas police spokeswoman Tina Ellis said: “Evidently there is a warrant out for his arrest and Santa Barbara police are negotiating with Michael Jackson’s attorneys regarding the case.”

Those negotiations are believed to involve the terms of his surrender, although no charges have been specified.

Yesterday, police searched Neverland in relation to a criminal matter. Soon after news broke Brian Oxman, Michael Jackson’s family lawyer said that the search involved an allegation of sexual molestation, believed to have come from a 12-year-old boy.

Michael Jackson’s publicist Stuart Backerman said, “Michael will, as always, co-operate fully with authorities in any investigation.”
