Kylie and Jacko wrestle in the mudbath of the midweeks...

KYLIE MINOGUE is currently holding off MICHAEL JACKSON‘s attempts to become this week’s Number One single.

Jackson released ‘You Rock My World’ yesterday (October 8), and initial midweek sales figures published earlier today (9) show that current Number One Kylie remains on top with ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’. Jackson follows as the highest new entry at Number Two.

A chart expert at the Virgin Megastore in London told NME.COM that the battle is far from over, as there are only “a few hundred” copies separating the top two singles.

She said: “It’s a close battle this week and Kylie is ahead by only a few hundred copies. We’ll have to see how the week progresses for who will be the eventual winner!”

Other new entries in the Top Ten this week are set to be Usher‘s ‘You Got It Bad’ which is at Number Six, The Ones’ ‘Flawless’ at Number Seven and Linkin Park‘s ‘In The End’ at Number Eight.

Other new entries this week come from Pulp, who are currently at Number 17 with ‘The Trees’/’Sunrise’ and Super Furry Animals, who are currently at Number 21 with ‘(Drawing) Rings Around The World’.
