Miguel‘s Hollywood Forever Cemetary gig in Los Angeles last night (September 4) featured a string of high-profile surprises, with Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and Kurupt all making unannounced appearances at a show that also saw Kimbra in the audience.
Footage has emerged from the show showing the collaborations, which include Kendrick Lamar on ‘Alright’, A$AP Rocky on ‘Everyday’ and Snoop Dogg on ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ chipping in over the course of the night.
The singer has had a busy week, having been criticised by Prince a few days ago, when he was amongst the artists accused of being unoriginal:
“There might be music that sounds like me,” Prince said, “but what good is that? You’re essentially in the feedback loop.”
Miguel’s third album ‘Wildheart’ came out in June this year, and also features Kurupt, as well as Lenny Kravitz. The album peaked at number two on the American charts.
He’ll be in the UK to continue the Wildheart tour come October, with dates as follows:
Brixton Academy (October 13)
Birmingham Academy (October 15)
Manchester Academy (October 18)
