Miguel releases new track ‘Coffee (Fucking)’ featuring Wale

The first version of the track was originally released last year

Miguel surprised fans last December with the unannounced release of a three-track EP featuring the songs ‘Nwa’ (with rapper Kurupt), ‘Hollywooddreams’, and ‘Coffee’. Now an extended version of the latter has been re-released with a guest verse from Wale. Click above to listen.

The track – now titled ‘Coffee (Fucking)’ – may feature on Miguel’s forthcoming third album ‘Wild Heart’. Not many details about the LP have been released, including the final tracklisting and due date, but in January 2014 he revealed he was working with Jessie Ware and J Cole on the project.

“It was a little daunting because I wasn’t sure how rusty I’d be,” Miguel said about beginning work on the record. “I’d been collecting ideas and writing down concepts and phrases and all those things you hoard as you’re moving along, and that very first day in the first hour, we had something special. I think my spirit was ready to go and ride the wave, so to speak. I’ve been so focused on performing and making sure that what we do live is connecting. So now I’m just happy to be in a place where I can have solitude and just create freely.”

Miguel co-wrote ‘Kind Of… Sometimes… Maybe’, which appeared on Ware’s ‘Tough Lough’ album last year. He’s also collaborated with Janelle Monáe and Mariah Carey, and contributed to both the Girls and Hunger Games soundtracks since the release of his last album, 2012’s ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’.
