NO PLACE LIKE DOME?

Greenwich Council is yet to give the go-ahead though...

Superclub MINISTRY OF SOUND plan to return to LONDON’s MILLENNIUM DOME this New Year’s Eve for a second annual party.

Though details of star DJs have not yet been released, the club promises 50 of “the world’s greatest”. The 18,000-capacity venue will feature four rooms – the Ministry Of Sound Arena, the Smoove Arena (garage, R&B), World Dance (old-style rave) and the Rulin Arena (VIP room).

However, it is far from certain that the event will go ahead. Greenwich Council, responsible for issuing licences for the Dome, are yet to consider the application. A decision is not expected before November.

It is also unclear how much Ministry will pay to hire the Dome. Last year, they were given the venue free. However it is unlikely that such charity will extend to this year, as the Dome struggles to recoup multi-million pound losses sustained during its year open. English Partnership, the body who now owns the Dome, could not be reached for comment.
