In 2014, Danzig has lost a lawsuit against former bandmate Jerry Only, who fronts the latest incarnation of the punk band, over rights to the group’s merchandise.

Danzig took his former bandmates to a federal court alleging they had made “secret” merchandising deals with several retailers, such as Hot Topic. The musician hoped to prove the merchandising contracts violated a 1994 contract regarding profits gleaned from the Misfits logo. Judge Gary Klausner, however, dismissed the lawsuit, saying Danzig couldn’t prove his case.
