Danish star MØ has released a handwritten note apologising for her Saturday Night Live performance with Iggy Azalea last weekend.
MØ’s television debut saw her sing alongside Azalea on their new track ‘Beg For It’, which emerged last week. But it turned out to be a very awkward performance, as the 26-year-old’s vocals were out of sync and she appeared nervous throughout the song.
After criticism from fans online, she has now issued a handwritten note entitled ‘The Aftermath’, in which she addresses the problems she faced onstage and blames her poor performance on “technical issues”.
“Unfortunately I had some technical issues which caused latency on my vocals, and as a result I got confused and my timing was off,” she writes in the note.
“It pains me and I’m SO sad today. But life goes on… I’m not perfect, never claimed to be, don’t want to be, but yeah, sometimes it sucks to be an anti-hero.
“What can I say – you have to embrace who you are!”
Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea offered words of support for her collaborator on Instagram: “MO congratulations on your first television! (It only gets easier!)”
Azalea has herself been in the spotlight recently for poor live performances. Last month, she was criticised for apparently lip-synching during a performance with Jennifer Lopez.
