MØ, Diplo sail away in new video for ‘Sun In Our Eyes’

The long-time collaborators share the visuals for the lead single off 'Forever Neverland'

and Diplo have unveiled the music video for ‘Sun In Our Eyes’.

The David Helman-directed (The Weeknd, Zayn) video is set on what appears to be a fishing trawler, with MØ, Diplo, and an array of youngsters hanging out as the sun sets.

‘Sun In Our Eyes’, the lead single from MØ’s forthcoming second album ‘Forever Neverland’, hears the Danish singer pair up once again with the Major Lazer producer.

Speaking about the video, MØ said: “The video for ‘Sun In Our Eyes’ shows a gang of people who have chosen to break off from society and create their own world. Peter Pan and the lost boys – sailing instead of flying – setting out for distant shores in hopes of finding and living out their dreams.

“Collectively they are rejecting the harsh reality of the lives and the world they used to live in.”

The pop star’s collaboration with Diplo (as Major Lazer) and DJ Snake for ‘Lean On’ famously broke streaming records in 2014.

‘Sun In Our Eyes’ is MØ’s latest collaboration with Diplo. Other previous collabs include ‘XXX 88’, which was also released in 2014.

In a recent interview with NME, the singer revealed some other dream pairings.

“I worship Kendrick Lamar, but that’s a big dream. Same with Rihanna. And then, like, Princess Nokia, Grimes, Santigold. I don’t know if Kim Gordon does collaborations but I’d love to work with her on something one day. I sound like such a douche right now…”

MØ did stress, however, that she has big ambitions for her solo work. “The dream,” she says, “is always to push the borders of whatever area you’re in. You always want to not echo whatever’s out there. I dream of doing something where people are like: ‘That’s different, but it’s still something I can relate to’, because that’s the way of moving forward. I don’t want to just copy whoever I think is dope – you’ll shine when you feel 100% comfortable, but you’re also pushing it.”

‘Forever Neverland’, the follow-up to MØ’s debut album ‘No Mythologies to Follow’, is out on October 19 via Chess Club / RCA Victor.
