MOBY has helped raised £100,000 for victims of US terrorist strikes through a benefit night in a NEW YORK club.

DJs such as Danny Tenaglia, Louie Vega, Junior Sanchez and Junior Vasquez appeared at the Centro-fly venue in the city on Tuesday (September 25).

“Everyone was so generous, the DJs, the club owners, even the bartenders were giving their tips to the cause,” Moby said in a posting on his website, moby-online.com. “Such an abundance of generosity and altruism is really heart-warming.”

Moby has faced a storm of protest after using the site to post messages critical of the CIA and US government in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist strikes on the World Trade Center twin towers in New York. He has since withdrawn the remarks.
