The star explains why he's not playing as many dates as last year...
MOBY has announced details of his AREA:2 touring festival, and explained to fans why he’s not playing as many dates as last year.
Last year’s festival saw the dance guru touring North America with the likes of David Bowie[/a] and Avalanches. This year, he will be joined by Busta Rhymes, [/a] and [a].
However, writing on his official website, www.moby.com, the star said that the tour will be shorter this year than last because he is also planning a massive world tour in support of his forthcoming album, ’18’.
He said: “Area:2 will be fairly short this year. But I will be going just about everywhere that Area:2 doesn’t go. So those of you in Texas, Florida, etc, please be aware that I will be visiting you on my own. Which might be small comfort seeing as Area:2 won’t be coming to your neck of the woods, but i shall be there, god willing.
“At some point in the next month or so we’ll be posting my other North American tour dates. And I believe that we’ll be announcing my 2002 European tour dates any day now. Personally I want to go everywhere. But there are a lot of everywheres in the world, so I can’t go everywhere. But i can try.”
The tour calls at:
Bristow Nissan Pavilion (July 28)
Camden Tweeter Center (30)
Holmdel PNC Bank Arts Center (31)
Wantagh Jones Beach Amphitheater (August 2)
