Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller reportedly writing song for new Monkees album

New Monkees album 'Good Times!' to mark group's 50th anniversary

Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller have penned a new song together for an upcoming Monkees album, reports claim.

A recent mysterious listing on Amazon hinted that a new Monkees album will be on the way, with Rolling Stone later confirming the news.

Rolling Stone has confirmed the album to be titled ‘Good Times!’, out on June 10 to mark the group’s 50th anniversary.

The likes of Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo and Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard will appear on the LP, with additional reports suggesting that Gallagher and Weller have also teamed up for the project.

The Cuomo-penned track will reportedly be called ‘She Makes Me Laugh’, while Gibbard has written a song called ‘Me & Magdalena’. No more details are known about the Gallagher/Weller contribution.

NME has approached representatives of both Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller for a comment on the reports.

The Monkees released their most recent album ‘Justus’ in 1996.
