Detroit DJ Moodymann captures video of moment he was confronted by armed police

He initially shared the clip on his Instagram page, but he has since removed the footage

The Detroit-based DJ Moodymann was apparently surrounded by armed police and arrested on his own property earlier this week – an incident which the DJ managed to film and later upload to social media.

The DJ, real name Kenny Dixon Jr, was sat in his car on Tuesday (January 15) when he was approached by a number of officers – all of whom appeared to be pointing assault rifles directly at him – who demanded that he unlock his car.

As he started to film the confrontation, one of the officers yelled “unlock the door now!” at Dixon. The DJ then attempted to demonstrate his co-operation, informing the officers that he was trying to unlock the door himself. The clip ends as Dixon exits the vehicle.

He later uploaded footage of the dramatic incident to Instagram, but the clip has since been deleted [via The Detroit Metro-Times].

In the accompanying caption of the original Instagram post, Dixon claimed that he had been arrested on his own property by Highland Park Police.

“HP police came in (MY BACKYARD) demanding proof of ownership and this is how they reacted,” he wrote on Instagram. “(Went 2 jail again) charged me 4 Breaking and entering on my own property even though I had keys.

“What u can’t c [sic] is 9 other officers pointing there [sic] AR15 directly at my head… next time just pull the MF trigger let’s get this shit over with (I’m tired) I’m so tired.”

According to The Guardian, a spokesperson for the Highland Park Police denied having knowledge of the arrest.
