The Mooney Suzuki have announced a string of dates in the north-east of the US, kicking off on February 14 in Washington DC.
The New York garage band are currently readying their fourth album ’Have Mercy’ for a spring release, although they were recently left without a label following the demise of V2 in the US.
Despite the band experiencing several professional and personal problems, singer Sammy James Jr says their hard times are not reflected in the sound of ’Have Mercy’.
“It’s amazing to me that this is still an upbeat record,” he says “When I was writing these songs, I was not in a good place. We were in debt, we didn’t have a band, and it seemed like this potential career that had for so many years been dangling just out of reach was finally gone.”
Following their headlining tour, the band will hit the road for an opening slot with Albert Hammond Jr.
