Morrissey says reuniting with The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr ‘doesn’t make sense any more’

The former Smiths frontman also said there is only one thing left in the band's vaults

Morrissey has responded to new questions around a reunion of The Smiths.

Given the reunion of Guns N’ RosesAxl Rose and Slash as an example, an Australian news site asked Morrissey if time has healed the wounds in the rift between him and former bandmate Johnny Marr.

“It’s no longer a question of time or wounds, but simply that the issue is now so remote that the question doesn’t make sense any more,” he responded.

Morrissey also told News.com.au that there is only one thing left in The Smiths’ vaults that could be put on any future reissues, but he doesn’t own a copy of it.

“Only a cover of Elvis Presley’s ‘A Fool Such As I’,” he said. “I don’t even have a copy of it, but I expect it will spring out one day… when I’m on a life-support machine.”
