Morrissey has been spotted on adverts for skateboard company/clothing brand Supreme.
A new ad campaign features the former singer of The Smiths, with posters popping up in both Japan and France. See photos posted via Instagram below.
Morrissey follows in the footsteps of Neil Young, who has previously modelled for Supreme. The likes of Odd Future and Justin Bieber have been instrumental in popularising the brand in recent years.
Morrissey recently commented on the news that his debut novel List Of The Lost was picked as a winner for the infamous Bad Sex Award.
The Literary Review’s Bad Sex Award honours the “most egregious passage of sexual description in a work of fiction” every year.
Morrissey’s book was released last year and was met with harsh criticism at the time, particularly for its passages on sex.
One such passage reads: “Eliza’s breasts barrel-rolled across Ezra’s howling mouth and the pained frenzy of his bulbous salutation extenuating his excitement as it whacked and smacked its way into every muscle of Eliza’s body except for the otherwise central zone.”
While Morrissey was unable to attend the ceremony on December 1, he told Uruguayan newspaper El Observador that he felt it was “best to maintain an indifferent distance” from the award, “because there are too many good things in life to let these repulsive horrors pull you down”.
He explained: “I have many enemies and their biggest motivation, as you know, is to try to use all your achievements against you.”
Writing in an email interview with Chilean website last October, Morrissey claimed that the response to the book was based more on the fact he wrote it than what he wrote.
“I strongly believe in freedom of expression and critics have to say what they have to say,” he stated. “But often the criticisms are an attack against me as a human being and have nothing to do with what they’re reading.”
