The singer walks out on London show due to apparent illness
Several Morrissey fans who attended tonight’s (January 25) London Roundhouse gig that was cut short after just three songs have posted messages on the singer’s fan sites wishing him well.
Rather than being angry with the singer, most fans were sympathetic. “I felt sorry for him,” wrote one fan on Morrisey-solo.com. “He did struggle. I’d happily pay double the ticket price for a 4-song performance from Morrissey any day.”
“As a big admirer I am, I recognise that in this moment shouting and angry comments from fans is not helping,” wrote another. “I am sure he feels unhappy as well with the situation. So, a big hug to him, and I hope he comes back to the Roundhouse so we can all go to see him again soon.”
“God love you Morrissey,” wrote a third well-wisher, adding, “Please get well for Sunday I want to see you again. xx”
Some weren’t so understanding, suggesting that Morrissey retire. “He really needs to pack it in, and lay to rest this gullible fanbase that he easily siphons money from,” said one.
Still others offered Morrissey tips for staying healthy. “Morrissey gets sick WAY more than the average singer or person! He needs to take better care of himself starting with some decent meals (and that doesn’t mean non-veggie ones).”
Morrissey was scheduled to play two additional shows at the Roundhouse tomorrow (January 26) and Sunday, but it is not yet known whether they will go ahead as planned.
