Morrissey has shared a “lost studio track” – check out ‘By The Time I Get To Wherever I’m Going’ below.
The former Smiths frontman has already made headlines today (April 17) after he gave a controversial interview on his newly-launched website, Morrissey Central.
That same website has now posted a previously-unheard track from the Morrissey archives. Described as a “lost studio track”, the song – ‘By The Time I Get To Wherever I’m Going – is now streaming on YouTube. You can listen to it below.
The song wasn’t the only new post on Morrissey Central this evening – a picture of the musician’s cat is also available to view.
Morrissey discussed a range of subjects in the aforementioned interview, including his preference for his solo work to his former band’s, his battle against animal cruelty, and how accusations of racism “can’t penetrate or illuminate” the intended nature of his often controversial comments.
“As far as racism goes, the modern Loony Left seem to forget that Hitler was Left-wing,” he said at one point. “But of course, we are all called racist now, and the word is actually meaningless.
“It’s just a way of changing the subject. When someone calls you racist, what they are saying is: ‘Hmm, you actually have a point, and I don’t know how to answer it, so perhaps if I distract you by calling you a bigot we’ll both forget how enlightened your comment was’.”
